Chichester 10k Race Report 1st Feb 2026
5 February 2026
Race report by Mary Cooper.
The annual 10k event on our doorstep started with me wondering if I needed a wetsuit and goggles as the weather was so wet, but I opted for my Chi Tri suit as it’s so comfortable and advertises out club nicely.
Porridge eaten and number belt dug out, I text Lin to get a lift as my plan to cycle went in the bin! It was lovely to warm up with someone and do the last minute loo trip together. We didn’t see many other CTC ers as probably all getting in their zones as it was a Competitive field! (British Masters Championship)
Onto the track and found my pacing flag and we were off! One clockwise loop then out onto the road to the rolls Royce car park roundabout – I was ahead of the flag bearer at that point . . . Just keep going I thought . . . Then my lack of speed work and long pizza
run took its toll on my legs, but Emily Heron cheered brilliantly and it really lifted me when tired! She also took the pictures of some of us!
The last 3 km was on the motor circuit but anticlockwise. It felt a long last km!!
Well done to all who raced and supported

And well done to those with PBs (Lily De Lacey – you smashed it , Julie Cammack – great effort and probably others too as it was a fast course!)
See you all at the AGM this Friday! And hopefully at the Frosty at start March – ready for some multisport team fun! Ah and how could I forget the lovely Corporate Challenge in between . . . Still time to sign up!!
